Warehouse Conversion

An industrial space is being converted into two separate lofts, which can be joined together or used separately. A flexibility model is embedded in the scheme. It  allows for different uses, as living or working space, responding to the zoning of the area.

The smaller loft is served by a plywood box holding all services (bathroom, kitchen, laundry, cupboards) with the possibility of inhabiting the top. Its position in space creates different zones for an entrance, cooking, living, and sleeping. 

The two lofts are hinged together by a winter garden / loggia, which can be switched to either one of the lofts. In a second phase, a new stair will give access to a new roof deck overlooking Melbourne's skyline.
